If you really want to do a program and it seems expensive, contact them about scholarships.  They might offer scholarships even if they don't advertise them!  

South Central Scholars Summer College Program Guide.  This is a wonderful resource for students interested in attending a summer college program!  Open the file below.  Pay attention to application deadlines!


Enrichment Alley:  This is a search site where you can find summer programs across the nation.  Research the program, its cost (don’t forget to check for scholarships!), and, then, if it sounds good, go for it

UCLA’s CCCP program is for students going to a community college.  Their summer programs will help you prepare and succeed in your first year of college!!


Open the file below titled “Free or low-cost summer programs” for a list of college programs known to offer good financial aid (hopefully they are free!).


The 2012 Eve and Gene Black Summer Medical Career Program is now accepting applications from students who are current 11th or 12th graders.  Students can choose from two, three, and four-week programs that run during July.  Stipends of $500 and $1000 are available to students with financial need.  APPLICATION DEADLINE Feb. 24th.  Application materials are available at their web site.


2012 Bank of America Student Leaders Program for Juniors and Seniors.  A paid summer internship opportunity at a non-profit organization, funded by Bank of America.  You also spend a week at a student leadership conference in Washington, D.C.!  Click here to learn more!  APPLICATION DEADLINE JANUARY 25TH.



Experience Berkeley Summer program at UC Berkeley that will help you prepare for your UC and other college applications!  For juniors with GPA 3.5 or higher.  DEADLINE: March.  


The Smithsonian Latino Center's Young Ambassadors Program is a national, leadership program for high school seniors. The mission of the program is to foster the next generation of Latino leaders in the arts, sciences, and humanities via the Smithsonian Institution and its resources.  DEADLINE: April.


For 10th and 11th Graders: Chicano Leadership Youth Project Sacramento Leadership Conference.  July 23rd-July 30th.  Students will visit the Capitol to learn about politics, will learn about college and different careers, and will attend a college fair.  DEADLINE April. Apply online here.


The UCLA School of Engineering and Applied Science has an eight-week summer program that encourages 10th and 11th graders to consider a future in engineering. Program participants receive a stipend, a program certificate, and a scientific poster before departing.  DEADLINE: April 20th.  


USC summer programs, including a week-long Marine Science camp at Catalina Island for girls!


UCLA’s Summer Experience program offers a variety of summer courses and institutes. Full and partial scholarships are available!


Girls in grades 9 through 11 interested in computers can attend a Microsoft-sponsored summer camp called Digigirlz!  If you’re interested, click on the link and visit their web site for an application.  Be aware that these camps are out of state!
