Attention students and parents: CAHSEE results from October & November 2009 are now in. You may call or see your SLC counselor or Iris Revels, Testing Coordinator, for results. Results will be mailed in the next three weeks. The next CAHSEE will be on February 2&3 for 10th graders: Tracks B&C; 11th graders: Tracks B&C; and all 12th graders.

Announcements and Deadlines


Seniors, keep applying for scholarships!  Click on the “Scholarships” or “Resources for AB 540 Students” links to the right!!  We will be adding many scholarships throughout the spring, and deadlines are coming up soon!


Take your placement tests at CSU LA, and have them shared with other CSU LA campuses.  The fee for each test is $18 (total of $36) and is paid the day of the test.

Students, if you’ve noticed a change in your Art course titles (e.g., “Drama” changed to “Theater HS”) on your transcripts, you need to send a letter explaining this change to each Cal State and UC campus to which you’ve applied.  Open the file below, “Art Course Title Changes – Student Letter to Colleges.doc.”  Replace the red text with the correct information, and mail a signed letter to the Undergraduate Admissions Office at each college.  (You can find the address at the college’s web site.)  This is very important—if you don’t do this, the college may decide that you’re not meeting the Art requirement!


Deadlines for Undergraduate Applicants to CSU LA

Expect similar deadlines at other colleges!  PAY ATTENTION to your email, and create web accounts at each college, if possible!

 

  • November 6, 2009:  Deadline date to sign up for last qualifying ACT test date (December 12, 2009)
  • NOVEMBER 30TH, 2009: APPLICATION DEADLINE FOR ADMISSIONS (CSUMentor.edu) AND EOP!!!
  • December 15, 2009:  Deadline date to sign up for last qualifying SAT test date (January 23, 2010)
  • December 18, 2009 (postmark date):  $55.00 application fee (for students who did not pay application fee at time of application or fee waiver denied).
  • January 16, 2010:  Deadline to register for the January 30, 2010 EPT/ELM.  To register, go to www.calstatela.edu/tests.
  • January 30, 2010 (last exam date):  English Placement Test (EPT)/ Entry Level Math (ELM).  Testing must be completed as soon as possible.   
  • February 26, 2010 (postmark date):  Self-Reported Data for Admission Eligibility (High School college preparatory courses, SAT/ACT scores, Golden Four)
    • Students can print, complete and sign the Supplementary High School Information form located http://www.calstatela.edu/univ/admiss/hscp.pdf and send to Admissions Office
    • Self-reported Transferable College Work GPA Form located at http://www.calstatela.edi/univ/admiss/srGPA

  • May 1, 2010 (postmark date):  $100.00 Enrollment Confirmation Deposit.    
  • July 8, 2010 (postmark date):  New Student Orientation registration and payment - Attendance is required for freshmen, and strongly encouraged for transfers.
  • July 15, 2010 (postmark date):  Official, final high school transcript with confirmation of  graduation date, SAT/ACT scores, SAT subject exam scores, AP exam results, and official, complete transcripts from all  colleges and universities attended.

 

Students will be required to meet CSU eligibility and all deadlines in order to enroll for Fall 2010.  Missing one of the deadlines will jeopardize the ability to enroll for Fall 2010.  There are no exceptions to CSU eligibility requirements and deadlines and enrollment may not be deferred to Winter 2011.

Still not sure what career you want?  Then take a career test!  Click on Career Cruising, then create a new portfolio to save your results for the Senior Portfolio.  After creating your portfolio, use the Matchmaker to find the career that fits your personality the best!  Remember to hit the grey "Save" button, or you will lose your results.
